IENE Welcomes Five New Corporate and Associate Members

IENE recently welcomed five new members, both corporate and associate ones. The new companies that have joined IENE include ROTA SA, Famemoiss Energy Services and the Tornaritis Law Firm, whereas Prof. Dr. Theodor Chirica and Dr. Charles Ellinas have become IENE’s new associate members.

In detail, these new members are:

ROTA SA (http://www.rota.gr/) is the largest exhibition organizer company in Greece. Prof. Dr. Theodor Chirica is the Chief Executive Officer of EnergoNuclear, Romania and Executive Board Member of FORATOM, which is the Brussels-based trade association for the nuclear energy industry.

Dr. Chirica is a nuclear engineer having more than 40 years’ experience within the Romanian nuclear industry, with detailed knowledge in such areas as design & engineering, consultancy, large projects management, project finance and insurance, electricity trading and communication.

In 2000 he was instrumental in setting up the Romanian Atomic Forum (ROMATOM) and was responsible for the affiliation of ROMATOM to FORATOM. Dr. Chirica is member of the Executive Board of the ROMATOM and between 2000 and 2005 he served as Secretary General of the Association. From 2000, Dr. Chirica represents ROMATOM to the General Assembly of FORATOM and in 2006 was elected as member of the Executive Board and has served as the Treasurer of FORATOM since 2008.

Between 2007 and 2008 he was Vice President of the Romanian National Committee – World Energy Council. In 2008 Dr. Chirica was the Chairman of the European Nuclear Council, a network of the most senior representatives of the European nuclear industry.

Dr. Theodor Chirica recently participated as keynote speaker in IENE’s "SE Europe Nuclear Option” conference, which was organized on May 6, in Bucharest.

Dr. Charles Ellinas, CEO of Cyprus Natural Hydrocarbons Company Ltd (CNCH), is a civil engineer and has been working in the oil and gas sector for more than 35 years in the UK and Middle East. Before becoming Executive President of the Cyprus National Hydrocarbons Company (CNHC) in January 2013, Dr. Ellinas was a main board member and Managing Director of Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals at the multinational Mott MacDonald, an engineering consultancy and project management company.
