IENE Fund Drive 2024-2025

The Institute of Energy for SE Europe (IENE), which is a non profit and non governmental organisation,is active in the broad energy sector in SE Europe and the East Mediterranean. Funding for the Institute’s activities comes from a variety of sources. These include member subscriptions, grants from companies and governments for its research and study work, fees for the provision of Advisory Services, income from educational courses and also sponsorship for conferences and related events which IENE organises on a regular basis.

In order to be able to continue operating uninterrupted and also expand its various activities the Institute is in constant need of funds. These are needed primarily for its research and study work, where a team of highly motivated energy professionals are employed on a full and part time basis. In addition the Institute is developing a series of focused educational courses both at graduate and vocational-training level.

Funds raised through the current Fund Drive will be used to support a number of programmes and educational activities. These are listed in the official web site of the Institute, at www.iene.eu/programmes. These include electricity and gas market dynamics in SE Europe, Renewables, Storage and Transformation of Electricity Systems in SE Europe, Energy Efficiency and Solutions to Energy Poverty, Energy and Employment, Technology Review studies for use by enterprises and industries and several others.

Lately, the IENE has introduced a completely new programme on Regional Energy Security. As our region is experiencing unprecedented geopolitical turmoil the need for a well organised programme so as to be able to track and report on a continuous basis developments in the field but also contribute much needed short term and long term analysis is necessary as never before.

The Institute is in the process of organising an easy to review and easy to access Fund Drive programme with a series of attractive reciprocating benefits to potential contributors. A variety of funding options and a scale of contributions is included so as to facilitate interested donors and sponsors. The Fund Drive programme document will be released before the end of the year and will be available through the Institute’s web sites but also through wider circulation among the Institute’s members.
