Following an invitation by the Department of Shipping at the University of Peiraeus (Prof. El. Thalassinos), IENE’s Executive Director Mr. Costis Stambolis participated in a workshop of the aforementioned University on the sidelines of the Posidonia 2014 International Shipping Exhibition, which was held at the Athens Metropolitan Expo. The workshop’s theme concerned Pireaeus and its prospects as an international centre of maritime services.
As the date for IENE’s "8th SE Europe Energy Dialogue” (June 11 - 12, 2014) approaches, speakers from all over SE Europe have confirmed their participation thus ensuring once again the Energy Dialogue’s truly regional dimension. IENE’s Energy Dialogue will bring together in Thessaloniki (Makedonia Palace Hotel) some of the most prominent professionals, analysts, academics etc. of the energy sector of SE Europe and beyond. This year’s Energy Dialogue meeting, will focus on “The New Energy Mix”, which gradually emerges in SE Europe and beyond

On March 24, Mr. Nicholas Sofianos, IENE’s Research Projects Coordinator, participated in a two day Conference and Exhibition on "HydroTech Balkans and Balkan Wind Power", organized by Green World Conferences, in Belgrade, Serbia (24 – 25 March). Over 120 wind and hydro energy executives from SE Europe participated in this regional meeting which was dedicated to wind technology and project development in the Balkans.

On March 5-6 the Institute’s Executive Director Mr. Costis Stambolis visited Cyprus in view of the forthcoming joint IENE – FMW Energy Symposium which the two organizations are convening in Nicosia on March 27-28.
